Proposé par Adrien, avec un gros contexte dès le départ : collaboration avec le quartet de Donny McCaslin, album enregistré en pleine maladie, et surtout cette idée que c’est “vraiment son meilleur album”, avec une vraie préférence pour la voix plus fragile de fin de carrière. Très vite, Raphael pose le ton avec une des réactions les plus marquantes du groupe : “Quand j’écoute ce disque, j’ai vraiment la sensation que David Bowie chante en me regardant droit dans les yeux depuis les limbes.” Et il confirme ensuite sans surprise avec un 5/5 direct, “Hall of fame”, en disant même que Lazarus le fait chialer à chaque fois. Mais derrière, c’est beaucoup plus partagé. Gabi est globalement positif (3,5/5), surtout pour les musiciens (“sacrés musiciens”) et certains moments forts (Sue pour la batterie, Lazarus qui “fait mal”), mais pointe un vrai problème de cohésion : “ça fait un peu trop musiciens d’un côté et le chant de l’autre” Matthieu, lui, décroche clairement (2/5) : “j’ai pas réussi à rentrer dedans”. Il sauve la voix et Lazarus, mais critique assez frontalement les mélodies, les effets, et même la voix par moments. Nico est entre les deux (≈3/5), avec une réaction plus mesurée, pas rejet, mais pas non plus un énorme déclic immédiat. Au final, Blackstar est typiquement un album qui marque tout le monde, mais pas de la même façon : entre ceux qui vivent une vraie claque émotionnelle (Rafiki) et ceux qui restent plus à distance, impressionnés mais pas totalement embarqués. Un disque respecté par tous… mais aimé très différemment.
